Electric Vehicle Sales and Deliveries in China for July 2025

A new report reveals the latest sales and delivery figures for major electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers in China for the month of July.

Tesla

Tesla's retail sales in China totaled 38,000 vehicles in the first four weeks of July, marking a significant new order flow of around 66,000 units. However, the company's market share in China's new energy vehicle (NEV) market and battery electric vehicle (BEV) market saw a decline compared to June. Tesla's wholesale sales, including exports, reached nearly 68,000 units in July.

Nio

Nio delivered 24,925 vehicles in June, showing a year-on-year increase of 17.52% and a month-on-month increase of 7.29%. The company is estimated to deliver about 26,000 vehicles in July, a month-on-month increase of 11 percent.

BYD

BYD is projected to have wholesale sales of about 345,000 vehicles in July, dwarfing Tesla and Nio’s volumes. The company's exact delivery figures for July have not been released.

Other Notable Points

Li Auto delivered 36,279 vehicles in June, down 24.06 percent year-on-year and down 11.20 percent month-on-month. China EV insurance registrations for the week ending July 27 showed Nio with 3,250 registrations, Tesla with 10,620, and our X (Twitter) profileiaomi with 7,590. Among Tesla China's new order flow in July, the Model Y accounted for about 47,000 units and the Model 3 about 19,000 units.
