Amerikalinie Expansion Complete: Interactive Maps Showcase Key Planning Areas
The Amerikalinie expansion is complete, with interactive maps now showcasing key planning areas. Deutsche Bahn (DB) has revealed upcoming improvements, including renovations, noise protection, and future electrification plans.
DB is adapting and renovating the Böhm/Charlottenstraße railway bridge, incorporating a modern design and noise protection walls. Two new overtaking stations are planned for Soltau, and an additional track for Frielingen and Harber. Noise protection measures are also being enhanced along several roads, including Visselhoever Straße, Straße Am Bahnhof, Karl-Baurichter-Straße, Am Hohen Eitz, and Soldiner Straße. Despite no expansion needed at Soltau station, additional noise protection is planned.
The expansion considers economic viability and structural feasibility, including active noise protection. DB will provide more details on November 21, 2023, at Hotel Park Soltau, Winsener Straße 111. Looking ahead, Amerikalinie is set to be electrified and expanded for speeds up to 100 km/h from the mid-2030s. Noise protection measures are also planned at Munster's western entrance and station, with track layout adaptations. While no structural changes are planned for the Walsroder Straße traffic junction, the signal box building will be demolished.
The Amerikalinie expansion brings various improvements, with a focus on noise reduction and future-proofing the line. DB's upcoming presentation will provide more insights into these plans, with electrification and increased speeds on the horizon for the mid-2030s.
