Alliance's partnership model is shifting towards a more streamlined, nimble structure based on project collaboration.

In a significant move towards streamlining operations and ensuring quicker decisions, the Renault Group has unveiled a new structural setup. This transformation aims to boost operational efficiencies across various markets, technologies, vehicles, and beyond.

The automotive industry is witnessing a shift towards regional markets due to the diverse regulations in different parts of the world. Recognising this trend, the new setup will allow each leading company in a project to define its own specifications and processes, tailored to meet the specific product requirements of the region.

This project-by-project approach is a key aspect of the new structure, allowing the partners within the alliance—Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors—to collaborate strategically on joint projects in Europe, Latin America, and India. For instance, at the Ampere factory in Douai, France, these partners are working together to produce new electric vehicles based on shared platforms AmpR Small and AmpR Medium.

The Alliance purchasing organization is also evolving to align with this project-by-project approach. This evolution is intended to support the operational efficiency of the Alliance, as each new organization will have the autonomy to define specifications and processes that comply with regional regulations.

This restructuring is part of the path towards electrification and connectivity needs in the automotive industry. The new setup is designed to accommodate the unique product requirements of each company, ensuring that the Alliance remains agile and adaptable in this rapidly changing landscape.

The changes are intended to support the implementation of the Alliance common projects for Europe, Latin America, and India. By fostering a more efficient and flexible work environment, the Renault Group aims to drive innovation and growth in the electrified and connected vehicle market.
