Algeria Launches Confidential Corruption Reporting Platform for Investors
Algeria has launched a confidential digital platform to combat corruption in the investment sector. The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) introduced this tool to enhance transparency and accountability, following the establishment of the High Authority for Transparency, Prevention and Fight Against Corruption.
The platform, accessible to domestic and foreign investors, project holders, and AAPI employees, allows users to report corruption, blackmail, or abuse of authority related to investment procedures. Complainants must provide basic details such as name, nationality, contact information, professional status, a description of the violation, and any supporting evidence.
Reports submitted through the system remain confidential, with whistleblowers' identities protected. All reported cases are transmitted to competent authorities for review and action. This measure is part of Algeria's broader anti-corruption framework, which includes the High Authority tasked with developing and overseeing the national anti-corruption strategy, promoting good governance, and safeguarding public integrity.
The launch of this digital platform signals Algeria's commitment to fostering a safer, more transparent environment for investors. By encouraging accountability and combating corruption, the AAPI aims to strengthen Algeria's economic landscape.
