New Factory in Belarus to Focus on Premium Whiskey Production

A new factory, "Vinokurnya Soyuz", is scheduled to open in Fanipol, Belarus in 2026. This factory will mark a significant shift for the country's alcohol industry, as it will specialize in producing high-quality whiskey.

Currently, the Belarusian whiskey available in stores is not entirely authentic, as it uses distillates from Scotland. However, the new factory aims to change this by focusing on more traditional or craft distillation techniques.

According to the National Statistical Committee of Belarus, the total sales of alcohol and beer for the first half of 2025 amounted to Br3.2 billion. Alcohol sales in Belarus for the same period reached 98.9% of the previous year's level. However, it's worth noting that the sales of alcohol and beer accounted for a smaller percentage of the total retail turnover compared to the previous year.

In terms of sales volume, low-alcohol beverages were the third most sold alcoholic beverage in Belarus for the first half of 2025, with a volume of 2.26 million decaliters. Beer sales topped the list with a volume of 19.2 million decaliters, followed closely by vodka with a volume of 3.97 million decaliters.

The factory will be located in the industrial zone of the city on ul. Zavodskaya. It will be the first in Belarus to produce premium distillates in a full cycle using classic Scottish technology. The factory's main focus will be on malt and grain whiskey, setting a new standard for Belarusian whiskey.

In addition to whiskey, the factory will also produce gin. The production process will include a special "gin basket" for infusing botanical components.

This new factory is expected to bring a new era of quality and authenticity to Belarus's alcohol industry, offering a unique range of premium whiskeys and gins starting in 2026.

The new factory, "Vinokurnya Soyuz", is set to revolutionize Belarus's alcohol industry by producing premium whiskey and gin, contributing to a shift in the country's finance sector as a significant portion of investment goes towards this venture. This lifestyle change, accompanied by the introduction of more traditional food-and-drink options, promises to elevate the overall quality and authenticity of the nation's food-and-drink industry from 2026 onwards.
