Headline: PNB Expands Educational Unit Trust Offerings for Bumiputera Investors

KUCHING: In a move to encourage long-term investment and financial planning for education expenses within the Bumiputera community, Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) is extending its Amanah Saham Didik (ASD) unit trust offerings. This initiative is part of PNB's ongoing efforts to provide investment opportunities tailored to this demographic.

"We're offering 200 million more units of Amanah Saham Didik, giving Bumiputera investors a great opportunity to invest. This investment can provide good returns over time," said PNB Group CEO Tan Sri Datuk Seri Hamad Kama Piah Che Othman during a press conference.

Investors are advised to seize this opportunity as Amanah Saham Didik, established in 2001, has been consistently distributioning between 6 sen to 7 sen per unit annually. This demonstrates the trust investors should have in the funds managed by PNB.

PNB organizes educational programs on financial planning frequently, emphasizing the importance of these programs for gaining financial management know-how. PNB encourages investors to take full advantage of these opportunities.

If successful, the addition of these 200 million units will bring the total units of ASD to 3.5 billion. This is on top of the 3.3 billion existing units. However, the exact number of additional units available for subscription in this latest opening has not been explicitly disclosed.

Hamad expressed hope that Bumiputera investors will come forward to subscribe to ASD as PNB's offerings are usually in high demand and subscribed within a short period. Past records indicate that unit trusts under PNB have thrived, giving investors steady and attractive returns.

Sarawak ranks fifth among the states with the highest number of ASD unitholders, contributing 10% of the total. Last year alone, PNB attracted nearly 700,000 new unitholders, of which around 10,000 were from Sarawak.

Aside from educational investment programs, PNB will also organize a variety of events such as investment roadshows for Amanah Saham 1Malaysia in cities and towns across Sarawak. Additionally, the Malaysia Unit Trust Week will take place from April 20 to 26, 2010 in Kuching.

Investors are advised to consider investing in PNB's unit trusts as they offer higher returns compared to fixed deposits. To obtain the most accurate and up-to-date details about the new ASD opening, investors are encouraged to check PNB's official announcements or contact PNB representatives[1].

"This expansion of Amanah Saham Didik by PNB presents an excellent opportunity for personal-finance management, allowing Bumiputera investors to increase their investments in finance and potentially earn attractive returns over time."

"Moreover, investors keen on financial planning and education expenses should consider the investment in PNB's unit trusts, as they offer higher returns compared to traditional fixed deposits, backed by the consistent distribution records of Amanah Saham Didik."
