Act Group's DSI.100 Biofuel Cuts Maritime Emissions by 90%

Act Group has developed a sustainable biofuel, DSI.100, which reduces emissions by 90% compared to conventional maritime fuels. Approved for use as a 30% blend in distillate marine fuels, it's part of a project involving UECC, Lloyd's Register, and Wärtsilä.

DSI.100 biofuel, with very low sulphur content, is provided through a certified sustainable supply chain, ensuring traceability and accountability. UECC's use of this biofuel aligns with the maritime sector's push for a circular economy. The biofuel has secured approval from engine manufacturers for testing in vessels at sea. Act Group developed DSI.100 alongside partners like Airbus, SAF+ Consortium, and TotalEnergies.

DSI.100 biofuel, with its significant emissions reductions, is a step towards greener maritime transport. UECC's adoption, along with the support of key industry players, signals a promising future for sustainable biofuels in the sector.
