7 Workers Found in Illegal Employment at Bad Dürrheim Construction Site

An anonymous tip led authorities to uncover illegal employment practices at a construction site in Bad Dürrheim. Seven men, five Belarusians and two Ukrainians, were found working without proper residence permits. The Hauptzollamt Singen and the Staatsanwaltschaft Konstanz are now investigating the involved companies.

The search revealed concerning living conditions for the workers. They were found sleeping among tools and debris, with a charcoal grill serving as their makeshift kitchen. Proceedings have been initiated against the seven men for suspected illegal residence and working without permits.

The investigation is focused on the companies that employed these men. Only 11 out of 18 workers at the site were properly registered and authorized to work in Germany. It is also being looked into whether the workers were receiving the minimum wage, as statements on this matter have been conflicting.

The Hauptzollamt Singen and the Staatsanwaltschaft Konstanz continue their investigation into the firms involved in this labor dispute. The illegal employment of these workers and the poor living conditions are serious issues that require thorough examination. The outcome of the investigation will determine the fate of the involved companies and men.
